FAQ
Q1. Is this product already available for purchase?
No, it is not available for purchase at this time.
VITAL BELT is being presented at CES as a concept prototype and proof-of-principle model, with future product development in mind.
Q2. When is the product expected to be released?
At this stage, we are aiming for a potential general release around 2027, but the timing has not been finalized.
The purpose of CES is to gather feedback on technical possibilities and use cases from visitors and companies.
Q3. Is it safe to expose the body to electromagnetic waves?
VITAL BELT is designed based on extremely low-power sensing technology.
It operates at levels comparable to, or lower than, everyday wireless devices and is being developed with a strong focus on minimizing impact on the human body.
Q4. What is the difference between VITAL BELT and a smartwatch?
The key difference is that VITAL BELT is worn around the waist as a belt.
The waist area allows for more stable capture of respiration, posture, falls, and overall body movement.
Q5. What is the key feature of VITAL BELT?
Its key feature is redefining biometric sensing by changing where the device is worn.
By wearing it on the waist instead of the wrist, we aim to capture respiration, heart rate variability, body movement, and falls in an integrated manner.
Q6. What kind of use cases do you envision for VITAL BELT?
We are primarily considering the following use cases:
Healthcare and wellness
Elderly monitoring
Industrial safety and worker monitoring
At CES, we are demonstrating the potential of each of these scenarios.
Q7. Why did you choose a belt-type design?
A belt is something people can wear naturally regardless of age, gender, or body type.
It also allows for long-term, unconscious use in everyday life, which was a key consideration.
Q8. How is AI used in VITAL BELT?
AI is intended to analyze biometric data in real time as well as accumulated data,
helping visualize changes and trends in physical condition.
At this stage, it is not intended to perform medical diagnosis.
Q9. Are you considering B2B deployment?
Yes. VITAL BELT is primarily being considered for B2B and B2B2C deployment.
We envision customization and co-development tailored to specific industries and use cases.
Q10. How will personal and biometric data be handled?
Personal and biometric data will be handled carefully in accordance with relevant laws and guidelines in each region.
At CES, we are presenting the technology concept only.
Q11. What is your main goal at CES?
Our primary goal at CES is not sales or orders,
but to present the potential of the technology and connect with trusted partners.
Q12. Is this a medical device? Are you aiming to develop it as a medical device?
It is currently not classified as a medical device. Our goal is to pursue validation and refinement toward potential medical device evaluation in the future.
Q13. What is VITAL BELT?
VITAL BELT is a belt-type biometric sensing device worn around the waist.
It aims to visualize changes in a person’s condition as “awareness” by using naturally collected data from daily life, such as pulse, respiration, body movement, and posture.
It is currently in the concept and proof-of-principle stage and is not a commercial product.
Q14. What is the battery capacity and operating time?
At this stage, the design is based on the concept of long-term, continuous wear.
Specific battery capacity and continuous operating time will be optimized once use cases and specifications are finalized and are not fixed at the CES demonstration stage.
Our top priorities are that it can be used comfortably every day and does not disrupt daily life.
Currently, the operating time is approximately 12 hours.
Q15. Is there a specific age range for use?
At this time, there is no specific age restriction.
VITAL BELT places greater importance on how and where it is used rather than the user’s age.
In the future, we envision optimizing it for different use cases, such as elderly monitoring and health management for working-age populations.
Q16. How reliable are heat stress alerts and fall detection?
VITAL BELT is not a device for medical diagnosis at this stage.
However, it has the potential to detect “unusual conditions” in the body, such as changes in WBGT, irregular breathing, body movement variations, and sudden posture changes.
This makes it possible to approach heat stress alerts and fall or fall-risk detection by identifying trends through proprietary judgment logic.
Q17. What is your long-term goal with VITAL BELT?
Our goal is to create a system that can notify abnormalities, support awareness, and eventually become part of social infrastructure through sensing made possible by a naturally worn belt.
This also aligns with our core concept,
“FOR YOUR LOVED ONE.”
It is about wearing the device not only for yourself, but for your family, loved ones, and others—
and allowing that behavior to naturally become a social norm.
Specifically, we aim to realize a future where small signs—
before health issues arise, before overexertion is noticed, and before accidents happen—
can be understood by both individuals and those around them.
Q18. You are likely receiving many inquiries from companies. How do you choose your partners?
While capital and technology are important, our highest priority is alignment in philosophy and purpose.
Specifically, we look for partners who take a long-term view of human health and safety and who handle data responsibly and with care.
Beyond that, we comprehensively evaluate industry understanding, implementation and validation environments, and the ability to maintain long-term co-development relationships, carefully considering each potential partner.
